Trevor made headlines as an OHL player and captain with the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds when he quit the team after being the target of racist abuse from coach and general manager John Vanbiesbrouck. Within a week Vanbiesbrouck had resigned and Tyler rejoined his team to finish out the 2003 season.
The following season saw Tyler’s NHL debut to wide acclaim skating with the Dallas Stars. In 2005 he was named to play for Canada in the 2006 World Champanionships.
2001–2002: CHL Top Prospects Game
