Chris and his brother Anthony were the eldest of seven siblings, and the only boys. The brothers were competitive and supportive, driving each other to ever greater achievements in football and hockey.
Both brothers played with the North York Jr. Canadiens before the older, Anthony, joined the Kingston Frontenacs (OHL) where he advocated for Chris to join the team as an undrafted free agent. By the next season Chris was assistant captain.
Chris also played with the Albany River Rats (AHL), later renamed the Lake Erie Monsters, until his 2008 move to the NHL with the Colorado Avalanche. Since then he has been with the St. Louis Blues and the Buffalo Sabres, as well as playing for Canada at the IIHF World Champanionship in Slovakia, 2011.
